Introduction

In the universe there are only natural phenomena. There are three kinds: those known to everyday science and therefore to the populace at large, those known to unusually resourceful individuals or groups, and those known to no man.

The stories reported here are very far from normal daily life. Some are Gothic and macabre. All represent extraordinary, often frightening, phenomena observed by friends and associates whose veracity and judgment the author trusts. There is very little commentary or opinion. Within sections sequence is based upon temporal chronology.

Some of the entries are about things merely complex and strange, but ultimately explainable. Some are about things that require a far greater knowledge than human societies on Earth at present possess.
