Ten Steps to World Libertarian Revolution

Family - Three Generations

"And it's whispered that soon if we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us to reason.
And a new day will dawn for those who stand long
And the forests will echo with laughter."

Stairway to Heaven

A Brighter Future

Following here is a ten point program, the basics of which must eventually be implemented to liberate collectivist societies so that natural order can prevail on this planet. While it must be kept in mind that the particular best approach may vary a bit from one country to another because of what has occurred in the past, these variations involve only short term emphasis and sequence, not basic policy or principles. It should go without saying that the time frame for phasing in any particular policy will be of sufficient duration to maximize smooth transition so that there will be no short term bad effects upon individuals or economies.

What follows here is an extreme summary and can  only be truly understood in terms of preceeding material. Enemies of Liberty will reflexively proclaim that all this is "naive" or "oversimplified," but let us remember that non Libertarian elements lack positive inspiration because of three reasons - ignorance, immorality, or both.

Earth Spinning

Ten Steps to World Libertarian Revolution

1. Accept the premise that government is at best a necessary evil and that the less of it we have, the better. Support all popular measures that are in a basic Libertarian direction, such as budget balancing. When there is no other choice, deal with gross encroachments against individual Liberty covertly on an individual basis. Educate the upcoming generation at the grass roots level, about the sole workability of Libertarian principles so that un-Libertarian elements can finally be voted out of office everywhere. This is the one and only difficult part. The rest is blissfully simple and could then be implemented immediately unless otherwise specified herein.

2. Nationalize the central bank. Make all just disbursements. Return to a currency backed by durable commodity of intrinsic value, like a mixed store of precious metals. Simultaneously, begin phasing out all subsidies and all unjust regulation of business, trade, financial transfers, and banks. For any bank, including the central bank, to maintain less than a one hundred percent reserve at all times is simply dishonest. A free market will correct this slowly with mandatory disclosure to depositors about actual amounts held in reserve and education about what it all means.

3. Phase out all taxes and institute user fees and lotteries of designated purpose. This will not happen simultaneously in all areas of spending, but immediately wherever possible. This policy especially will insure that unnecessary foreign adventures are paid for only by the people who support them.

4. Cut defense to a prudent safe minimum, substituting standing military with a skeleton crew of officers for the coordination of a voluntary citizen militia adequate to any emergency. To this end, replace frivolous athletics in the schools with basic martial and survival training.

5. Gradually phase out all obsolete social programs and entitlements as the improving economy and rate of employment makes this possible in each particular locality. This will be done slowly enough so that nobody will be hurt. How quickly this can happen, however, will be a very great surprise to most people. Nobody will be hungry in a Libertarian society. There will be an emergency fund to alleviate desperation caused by local catastrophe or incurred disability. This can be funded by special lotteries at the federal and state level.

6. As things improve, the inevitable one percent simply unable to support themselves can be offered permanent sustenance by private charity as per specified terms (e.g. voluntary sterilization). Any such individuals refusing this option will have to shift for themselves. If this causes them to make encroachment against anyone else's Liberty, they will be placed in self-sustaining isolation communities.

7. As the distortions produced by hundreds of years of unnatural coercive government slowly begin to subside, cautiously phase out all unnecessary or unjust protectionist measures such as zoning laws, building codes, unnecessary safety regulations, etc.

8. Institute programs in schools to teach children, without undue blaming, about what went wrong in the past and how Libertarian policies will improve everything. Explain the manipulative relationship that previously existed between international finance and politicians. Supplement this with rigorous teaching about devolving humanity, excess birth rates, birth control, disease, and all individual classes of drugs. Make understanding of all this requisite for promotion. Teach the truth for forty years before eliminating public education.

9. Make many adjustments associated with simple Libertarian decency. Examples include:

~ Stop all unnecessary environmental pollution as soon this is truly viable. No pay-offs for ten year "feasibility" studies or twenty year "implementation" programs. Just stop it.

~ Institute requirements in livestock production, zoo administration, and pet ownership based upon totally humane, free range, hormone/drug free models.

~ Legalize all victimless crimes involving consensual areas of human contract. Free all perpetrators of victimless crimes with a public apology, a little money to tide them over, and a list of job offers.

~ Give national park and forest lands back to native populations from whom they were originally stolen. This with the provision that they continue to run the lands at a high standard, for the enjoyment of all. Current non-native employees can be offered life tenure or a new job.

10. History shows that smaller numbers of people in any given place works best, just so long as there are enough people to defend the country militarily.

One of the foulest myths perpetrated by crooked politicians in the service of big business is that a never ending stream of immigrants is necessary to keep industry alive. In actuality, business simply keeps expanding to accommodate the available work force. It is important to note that wealthy industrialists who want endless immigration for a cheap labor force to make them rich don't necessarily care what they do their country in terms of overpopulation and ruined culture. They spend their money in the latest jet set sanctuaries.

Close borders permanently to illegal aliens, temporarily to legal immigration. Exceptions would include close family members of previous legal immigrants or important defectors. Allow anybody to leave. No restrictions on travel. Temporary moratorium on absentee business ownership. Keep this policy until other nations pull themselves up with Libertarian Capitalist policies. Once this happens very few will want to flee their own countries or to invest massively elsewhere. Eventually restrictions on immigration and absentee business ownership can be eliminated.

At the point when all nations have achieved free enterprise, a basically Libertarian world will finally have been attained. Evil will still exist on Earth, but it will not rule the day because it will no longer be institutionalized by governments.
