Although
this is a work of fiction, all of the political and financial events are historical facts. The cause and effect connections
between them, “hidden in plain view,” were
not
commonly understood at the time. The only
thing fictional is the personal world of the young female journalist threading her way through the events, and augmented by
her
private study of history, finally connecting the dots in a way that only happened in real life decades later.
Many
of the classmates are loosely based on
preppie type girls that the author knew in the Wellesley area during the 1960s.
At the
end are two WLO essays which explain what
we can do to rid ourselves of the ongoing
problems outlined in this volume:
Alternative
to IMF Banks
Libertarian
Nationalist Revolution
