Roswell Benedict addresses the General Assembly of the United Nations, who today merely discuss and vote on the viability of general policy suggestions, then pass on recommendations to national governments.

For national leaders with good ideas, this has the effect of being able to suggest legislation to everybody on earth, with the added legitimacy of the many-minds principle.

“Gentlemen:

"I think we all agree that consumers worldwide must have total product choice. It’s good for people and good for countries. This is all I mean by the term free trade.

"I further suggest that goods offered in the free world market should be produced solely within each country by the citizens of that country.

"As a Libertarian, I once thought that any attempt to regulate anything would lead to harmful distortions. As a nationalist I have observed that a complete lack of regulation will more often do the same thing. Imagine the absurdity of Chinese Communists buying up Hollywood, and the American people actually letting them do it.

"I suggest that there should be no foreign ownership of business anywhere. To have it otherwise compromises the integrity a country, and as we have seen, always causes terrible distortions leading to further compromises of national security.

"Banks should be able to lend only within their own countries. To do otherwise is foreign nosiness ownership.

"From here on the United States will practice these principles, and I strongly urge that other nations follow suit."
