The four Socialists visit the Waken Open Air site. They explore the area around the campgrounds and see a great many white American tourists. They believe that their behavior is inconspicuous, but are noticed and remembered by a great many people.

Wednesday July 26.

Liberator is staying at the house of a friend of Sigurd in a small town in the countyside outside of Wacken. Because of this, they have not been warned by Coluvis. Late in the day they arrive at the festival site.

The Socialists have been getting very anxious because they haven’t had any luck with any of the other musicians who have been staying out of sight as per the warnings from Coluvis.

They are glad to see Liberator arrive, because they remember them from the TV interview as being Public Enemy Number One against Socialist wealth redistribution.

They wait, and when the Liberator band members go to dinner, with Jerry’s expertise, they break into each of the motorhomes and get hair samples from combs and brushes.

When they are back together, Jamal says,

“Only the burglar for each van should plant hairs from that van. It’s like you become the musician, more realistic distribution in the field.”

Ernie looks impressed and replies,

“You know, Jamal, you’re a pretty smart nigger, and you just made lieutenant.”

“Yowza, boss” mutters Jamal.

The others snicker.

There is just enough time to affect their plan because the place will be swarming with people by 10:00 A.M. tomorrow, the first day of music.

Henry has actually proved to be one of the best assets on this Socialist venture, because his US Army friend stationed in Germany has been able to procure automatic pistols with noise suppressors, and big combat daggers they could never have brought with them on the plane from New York.

They go out and almost immediately find a local cop speaking with a young white couple, Bob and Sandy from Minneapolis, whose eighteen-month old baby girl is with Sandy’s sister back in America. Ernie shoots the cop from behind as Jamal and Jerry, quickly from the opposite direction, skewer Bob and Sandy’s kidneys with their daggers. They wipe the knives clean on the victims’ clothes. Next they put hairs on all three bodies.

Henry suggests,

“One of these daggers discovered by police in Liberator’s Motorhome would sure help get them convicted.”

Ernie replies,

“It would, but after all our tourist activity, the risk would be too great. If we were seen, even if we got away clean, it would ruin the whole plan.”

Nearby they hit a double jackpot. Within six minutes of leaving the first scene, they encounter a group of eight more white American tourists. Ernie says,

“Just kill them quickly. Be bold and fast. Walk right up close, so you don’t miss. We got the guns, not them.”

As Ernie approaches the first young couple, biology students at Syracuse University, he acts friendly in a sarcastic way,

“Well, hello there! Isn’t it nice to see all you fine white American metal heads here abroad. Here’s a little Negro soul music for you. He pulls his pistol and shoots Judy first, then Don.

The other three couples alerted by the shots are now a bad prospect for knife killing, so Ernie and Jamal let their guns blaze until all six kids are dead. Again they plant phony evidence on all the bodies

Ernie says “We’ve been lucky, so let’s quite while we’re ahead, split up, and meet back at the hotel to enjoy all this on TV. Wipe your weapons free of prints and ditch them in the first trash cans you come to. Try to look natural… you hear that, Henry?”

“Chill out, man: replies Henry with a sly, but sheepish, grin.

It seems as though they have succeeded without being seen. Back at the hotel they remain downstairs for a quick dinner and then hurry upstairs to watch TV.

Thursday July 27,2028
The Socialists having agreed that Ernie has the most white-sounding voice, he runs out early to make an anonymous phone tip to the police about Liberator.

8:04 A.M. Liberator are just back from breakfast, getting ready for their festival performance when a loud knocking comes at their vehicle door. Sigurd answers, and is surprised to see eight police officers standing outside with weapons in hand. Their leader steps forward. 

“Good morning, I am Captain Paul Weber of the Wacken Police. Are you Sigurd, leader of the band Liberator?”

“Yes I am, how may I help you, Captain?” asks Sigurd.

“We are responding to an anonymous telephone call that your group was involved in the murder of several American tourists last night. We will need to ask you a few questions at police headquarters, and suggest that you come along quietly.”

“Well of course, we will cooperate, Captain, but last night we had a long dinner at the Wacken Fortress of Wienerschnitzel, came back immediately, and have been here since 10:00 P.M. You can ask the gatekeeper who was on duty last night when we came in. He will remember the time, because we interrupted his television news program about the festival.”

The captain trusts Sigurd intuitively, but must follow normal procedure and replies,

“I wish I could say that the murders were done after 10:00 but I cannot. As to the restaurant, we will verify what you say, but for now…”

Liberator is arrested by the Wacken police and taken to headquarters. Coluvis sees it all on the morning news and calls Garrett.

“Garrett, I guess you heard about all the murdered tourists. The Socialists changed their modus operand. They killed white American tourists instead, and somehow made it look like the guys in Liberator did it for Satan”’

Replies Garrett,

“Madre Dios! What in Hell do we do now?”

The music goes ahead as planned. Most of the other musicians aren’t even aware of any of these events.

By evening Christian protestors are at Wacken blaming all the musicians.in general for the murders, having tried and convicted Liberator in their minds already.
